The 7 golden rules
- Pay through the platform. Orders on GIVORAA are covered by the 15-day refund policy.
- Check the verified tick. Verified freelancers on Find Freelancers have been reviewed by our team.
- Agree everything in writing. Scope, price, deadline and revisions – keep it in GIVORAA chat.
- Never share passwords or OTPs in chat. Create temporary access and change passwords after the project.
- Avoid “too good to be true” offers. A full e-commerce website for $10 is a warning sign.
- Pay in stages for big projects. Use milestones instead of paying 100% up front.
- Report problems early. Contact support as soon as something feels wrong.
Paying a freelancer directly? Use a security deposit block
Sometimes you agree to pay a freelancer directly. GIVORAA still protects you with the security deposit system:
1. Ask for their Payment ID – it looks like GVP-XXXXXX.
2. Check it on the Verify a freelancer page – you will see their name, verified status and available deposit.
3. Request a block for the amount you agreed and describe the service.
4. Pay only after it shows “Blocked”. The amount is held from the freelancer’s deposit.
5. Release or report. When the work is done, release the block. If something goes wrong, report a problem and the GIVORAA team reviews both sides.

Warning signs of a scam
- Asking you to move to another app before any work is agreed.
- Pressure to pay immediately “because the offer ends today”.
- A Payment ID that cannot be verified on GIVORAA.
- Requests for your card details, bank login or OTP.
